Aitor Karanka is being strongly tipped to replace Garry Monk as manager of Leeds United.

According to a report in The Telegraph the former Middlesbrough boss has strong ties with a number of key officials brought in by Andrea Radrizzani who completed his takeover earlier this week.

Despite being sacked by ‘Boro Karanka is highly regarded across the game and has close ties to Jose Mourinho which opens many doors.

The Leeds job has been one of the most unstable in the game over the last dozen years but that doesn’t mask the huge potential of the club.

Monk took a largely untried squad close to a play off place with Radrizzani planning to invest in the key areas to ensure a return to the Premier League and the chance to tap into the club’s massive potential.

Having previously steered ‘Boro to promotion Karanka knows exactly what is required to fulfil that wish.
