Manchester City will hope to end their dismal run of form when they face Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.

The Citizens have won just one of their last 11 matches across all competitions, most recently being beaten 2-1 by rivals Manchester United in the Manchester derby.

City had looked to be cruising towards a 1-0 win at The Etihad, before late goals from Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo turned the match on its head and condemned Pep Guardiola’s side to an eighth defeat in 11 games.

The reigning champions’ chances of defending their Premier League crown look to be all-but-over, with leaders Liverpool already nine points clear of the Citizens, whilst also boasting a game-in-hand.

With that in mind, Guardiola could be solely focussing on ensuring that his side qualify for next season’s Champions League, by finishing in the top four in the Premier League.

The next two transfer windows could be huge for City, with several key players facing uncertain futures at The Etihad.

With that in mind, GiveMeSport claims that influential midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is increasingly likely to leave the club at the end of the current season.

De Bruyne looks likely to leave Manchester City at the end of the current season

De Bruyne, 33, has been one of the best players in the English top flight since joining City from German side Wolfsburg in 2015, but he is fast approaching the expiry of his current contract and has been linked with a move away in the past.

It is claimed that the Belgian midfielder is showing a desire to embark on a fresh challenge elsewhere, suggesting he could leave the club next summer.

The Belgium international has scored 104 goals and provided 171 assists in 397 games for City across all competitions, as well as winning 18 trophies including six Premier League titles and the Champions League.

He has, however, been plagued by injuries over the past two seasons.
