Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are looking to reach a second successive League Cup final, but know that they will need to be at their best to overcome Tottenham on Tuesday.

The Reds beat West Brom 2-1 at Anfield on Saturday, which was their fifth win in six Premier League matches, and a result which lifted them up to third in the table, ahead of Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs.

Tottenham could only draw at Bournemouth in the early kick-off on Saturday, which means that they have failed to win their last two league matches, and have slipped to fifth as a result.

Nevertheless, the League Cup takes priority this week, and this clash at Anfield could prove to be one of the ties of the last 16.

Both sides will likely make changes to the starting eleven, with both teams back in action in the Premier League on Saturday, and this may give some fringe players an opportunity to stake a claim for a first team spot.
