Everton manager Ronald Koeman wants to bring five new players into his squad during the January window as he looks to turn the club’s fortune around after a slump in form, according to reports from Mail Online.
Life under the Dutchman on Merseyside started well, however the Toffees are now without a win in five in the Premier League and lost 3-2 to Watford at the weekend having taken the lead.
As per the Mail’s report, the former Southampton boss has already earmarked three of the five he wishes to bring in.
One main concern this term has been the form of Ross Barkley, who raised hopes with a goal on the opening day but has been misfiring in all areas since.
In order to remedy this Everton are considering a move for CSKA Moscow playmaker Alan Dzagoev, to provide competition for the England international.
The Russia international is supposedly keen on a move to the Premier League but would set Koeman back around £15m.
His second target is perhaps more ambitious still, with the blue half of Merseyside reportedly looking to bring in Swedish sensation, Alexander Isak, who has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid already.
Finally, Koeman is still believed to be working on a deal to bring his compatriot Memphis Depay over from Old Trafford to add to his options going forward.
