Everton are set to make an offer for Baba Rahman.

According to a report in The Sun the Chelsea defender is among Ronald Koeman’s transfer targets and is expected to be back to full fitness in August.

Chelsea paid £14m to sign Rahman from Augsburg in 2015 but after 11 Premier League starts he was sent on loan to Schalke by Antonio Conte.

An anterior cruciate ligament injury in January brought his season to a halt but there have been no complications in his recovery from surgery.

Koeman was impressed by the 22-year-old last season and will make a move in the summer if Rahman can prove his fitness.

The Everton boss wants to create competition for every place in the team and sees Rahman as a left-back or central midfielder.

A permanent move is unlikely at this stage but after being signed by Jose Mourinho it’s unlikely that Rahman will feature in Conte’s future plans.
