Player of the Round: Divock Origi (Liverpool)

Before the trip to Southampton, it’s fair to say that Divock Origi’s had not impressed Liverpool fans after failing to find the net in his first 10 matches. But at St Mary’s he looked exactly like the player the Reds thought they were signing back in 2014. The Belgian showed real pace and trickery throughout the game and finished his chances with aplomb, netting a hat-trick. The 20-year-old followed up his smart toe poke with a thumping strike into the top corner, before completing his treble with a close range header.

Team of the Round: Liverpool

Liverpool continued their sizzling form under Jurgen Klopp with a stunning 6-1 victory away to Southampton. The Saints took the lead inside a minute through Sadio Mane’s goal. However, once Daniel Sturridge equalised midway through the first half it was one-way traffic. Klopp’s men pressed all game with an energetic display and after Sturridge grabbed his second to give them the lead, it was over to Divock Origi, who grabbed a superb hat trick. Jordan Ibe also snatched a goal as the Reds cruised through to the semi-finals.
