Player of the Month: Josh Morris (Scunthorpe United)

With an average of a goal a game and two assists to his name, Scunthorpe’s Josh Morris has been the key man in the Iron’s excellent start to the season.

The 24-year-old midfielder scored twice in an impressive 5-0 win over Gillingham, not to mention a stunning strike in the opening day win against Bristol Rovers.

Alongside Dutch striker Kevin van Veen, the former Bradford City player has helped United end August as the Football League’s leading scorers and if he can continue this form, the Glanford Park outfit will be amongst the League One promotion contenders.

Manager of the Month: Phil Parkinson (Bolton Wanderers)

Bolton suffered a truly miserable season, both on and off the pitch last year, as they were relegated to League One amidst torrid financial troubles.

However new manager Phil Parkinson has given the fans something to smile about at last though in overseeing the club’s best start to a league season in 82 years as they end August top of the league and with four wins to their name.

They only won five fixtures throughout the 2015/16 campaign!

Yet to taste defeat, it took a 90th minute equaliser from Charlton Athletic to slow their progress, but Parkinson’s men are the early pacesetters as the former Bradford City boss looks to guide The Trotters back to the second-tier of English football at the first attempt.

Goal of the Month: Jay Emmanuel-Thomas (Gillingham)
