Coventry City are considering whether to offer former Manchester United winger Chris Eagles a contract at the club.

The League One outfit, who currently occupy a play-off spot in the third-tier of English football, have announced that they have taken the midfielder on trial this afternoon.

Eagles, 29, who made 12 first-team appearances for 13-time Premier League champions United between 2003 and 2008, was released by Championship side Charlton Athletic towards the end of last season.

He scored twice in 15 appearances for the Addicks after arriving at The Valley back in February.

Eagles has also enjoyed spells at Burnley, Blackpool and Bolton Wanderers since leaving Old Trafford.
