Player of the Month: Ricky Holmes (Northampton Town)

The 28-year-old winger has been key to the Cobblers’ superb recent form with his tricky wing play being a real headache for opposition defences. A player who covers nearly every blade of grass, his creativity has helped lift Northampton to a truly enviable position at the top of League Two. He also chipped in with a quite sensational volley against Leyton Orient in an impressive 4-0 win, proving to be not only a key asset to Town’s success, but also a great player to watch.

Manager of the Month: Chris Wilder (Northampton Town)

Chris Wilder’s Northampton Town look to be cruising to the League Two title.

Like a freight train at full speed with broken breaks, Wilder’s Northampton side recently set a club-record of 10 successive wins as they march towards the third tier. Five of those victories came in February. Having saved the Cobblers from relegation on the final day in 2014, Wilder led them to mid-table last campaign, with only defensive frailties letting them down. There are no signs of that repeating this time with just one goal conceded in six matches. And with victories over fellow promotion-chasers Oxford and play-off hopefuls Wycombe and Orient, it is a question of when, and not if, Wilder and his squad seal a spot in League One as well as winning the League Two title.
