Kevin Nolan continued his perfect start to managerial life as his Leyton Orient side moved up into the play-offs with a 1-0 win over Newport.

Jay Simpson’s penalty, his 22nd league goal of the season, was enough to pick up three points and give new boss Nolan his second win in two games. County remain in 20th, four points above the bottom two.

In the evening’s other game, Mansfield produced a stunning late comeback at Morecambe to pick up a 2-1 victory.

Paul Mullin’s second half penalty had the hosts dreaming of three points, only for two goals in the last five minutes creating a dramatic turnaround. Chris Clements and Adi Yussuf were the Stags’ heroes as they jump to ninth, just one point outside the top seven. The Shrimps stay in 14th.
