Leeds United are reportedly in the running to land Scottish defender Liam Lindsay, according to the Daily Record.

The Championship club, who have moved up to fourth spot in the league standings, despite being pinned back to a late 1-1 draw against Aston Villa on Thursday night, have been linked with a move for Partick Thistle’s highly-rated centre-half during the upcoming January transfer window.

The 21-year-old, who has enjoyed loan spells at Alloa Athletic and Airdrieonians respectively in the past, has impressively scored six goals in 24 appearances in all competitions for the Scottish Premiership outfit so far this season.

Lindsay, who is also said to be attracting interest from fellow English football sides Birmingham City and Portsmouth, was scouted by Whites officials during Wednesday’s 2-0 victory against Dundee.

However, the report adds that the 6ft 3in defender has recently put pen to paper on a new contract extension that ties him to Partick until the summer of 2019.
