Leeds United are preparing a move for Mateusz Klich.

According to a report in The Express the Twente defender will be on his way to Elland Road as one of Garry Monk’s first signings after having his contract extended.

Once the complications of Andrea Radrizzani’s takeover are completed a concentrated effort will be made to improve on this season’s near miss.

Kilch only moved to Twente last summer from Kaiserlautern and is keen on the prospect of moving to England.

Monk is looking to strengthen every area of the squad with retaining striker Chris Wood a priority.

After the turmoil of recent seasons Radrizzani’s takeover from Massimo Cellino is eagerly anticipated with the Premier League tantalisingly close.

Funding Monk’s ambitions is the priority for Radrizzani with the new owners well aware that the former Swansea boss is back on the radar of Premier League clubs after six months out of the game.
