Leeds United are reportedly considering making a move for Northern Ireland international Conor McLaughlin this summer, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Championship side, who travel to Queens Park Rangers during the opening weekend of the new 2016/17 Football League campaign on August 7, have been linked with the Fleetwood Town defender.

The 24-year-old, who has 19 international caps for his country and helped Northern Ireland reach the Round of 16 at this summer’s European Championships in France, scored two goals and provided two assists in 42 appearances in all competitions for the League One outfit last season.

McLaughlin, who is valued at around £300,000, is also attracting interest from various Championship rivals as well – including Reading.

However the report suggests that the Whites have contacted the Cod Army about the full-back’s availability ahead of the new campaign.

The Northern Irish defender McLaughlin began his career at Preston North End before joining Fleetwood in 2012.
