Leeds United have been linked with Italian forward Massimo Coda, according to Salernonotizie (via Sport Witness).

The Championship club, who have dropped down to sixth spot in the second-tier of English football following their 2-0 defeat at the Amex Stadium to Brighton and Hove Albion on Friday night, are understood to be registering an interest in the Salernitana striker ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window.

The 28-year-old, who has previously featured for Crotone, Bologna and Parma, has scored seven goals and provided three goals in 19 appearances in all competitions for the Serie B outfit so far this season.

Coda, who is also said to be attracting interest from various Serie A outfits as well, netted a brace on Saturday in Salernitana’s latest 3-1 victory over Frosinone, a win that propelled the visitors up to 13th in the table.

The report adds that the Italian side are eager to keep hold of their star striker, but they could be tempted to do business with a big offer in the New Year market if Garry Monk’s Whites firm up their interest.
