Leicester City are reportedly keen on signing Austria international defender Martin Hinteregger this month.

The surprise Premier League title contenders, who drew 0-0 with Bournemouth at the weekend, are interested in recruiting the Red Bull Salzburg defender in time for the Foxes’ second-half of the 2015-16 campaign, where they hope to finish in the top four and qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

The 23-year-old, who has ten international caps for his country, has scored one goal in 13 appearances in all competitions for the Austrian top-flight outfit this season.

After being quoted a whopping £25m for Dynamo Kiev centre-half Aleksandar Dragovic; it is understood that Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri has altered his search towards Hinteregger instead, who is rated at around £10m by Red Bull.

However, reports suggest Bundesliga sides Stuttgart and Borussia Monchengladbach have already made offers for the defender this month, meanwhile English rivals Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have also been scouting him in the Hinteregger in the past.
