Riyad Mahrez could be on his way out of Leicester City this summer after dropping hints he’ll think about his future once the season ends.

The former PFA player of the year who’s disallowed penalty against Manchester City was the talk of social media has also been causing a stir since a recent Sky Sports interview.

Mahrez noted:

“I’m not really thinking about this summer yet, let’s finish this season and we’ll see,” is his answer when I ask him what he wants to do.

“There’s still three games to go, still some good games to play. I don’t want to put something in my head. At the moment I’m in Leicester, I’m happy and we’ll see.”

Hardly an emphatic declaration of wanting to stay at the King Power and many fans will be resigned to losing the 26 year-old. Also with a struggling campaign where the Foxes spent much of the season nearer to the bottom end of the table than the top, Mahrez may see now the ideal chance to get a big payday from one of the clubs reportedly interested in him, before his stock falls.

There’s still two years left to run on Mahrez’s contract with Leicester, which in itself may make a summer move the ideal one for all parties as the nearer to the end of a deal a player is the less he usually fetches on the transfer market.

Leicester fans have been giving their reaction to Mahrez’s comments and the prospect of him leaving the club this summer:

Mahrez doesn’t run about and smile all the time so I won’t miss him

The Mahrez debate rages on. Frustrating at times? Defiantly! But will we see a better flair player wearing the badge in our lifetime?

If you’re all happy to go back to the days of dross then crack on. There’s a reason Mahrez regularly sees himself doubled up on.

I don’t want Mahrez to leave, however, if he does than the figure HAS to start with a 5 or a 6! No settling for a rubbish fee. #lcfc

Mahrez has 2 games left in a LCFC shirt – Im going to enjoy him and not slate him – remember what he’s done for us! #lcfc
