Leicester City are said to be scouting Greece international striker Konstantinos Mitroglou, according to O Jogo.

The surprise Premier League leaders, who currently top the English top-flight by two clear points ahead of North London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal in second and third place respectively, were known to be scouting the Benfica hitman during their match against Pacos de Ferreira at the weekend.

The 27-year-old, who has 46 international caps for his country, has scored an impressive 17 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese giants so far this season.

However Mitroglou is currently on loan from Championship side Fulham until the end of the 2015/16 campaign.

It is understood that the Liga NOS outfit have a £5.5m option to buy the forward outright this summer, having failed to live up to expectations since joining the Cottagers from Olympiacos back in January 2014 for a reported £12m.

His current deal at Craven Cottage is still valid until 2018.
