Leicester City have confirmed the capture of Germany international goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler.

The 2015/16 Premier League champions, who finished 10 points clear of runners-up Arsenal in the English top-flight standings this term, have signed the highly-rated shot-stopper from German side Hannover 96 for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old, who has six international caps for his country, but has been left out of Germany’s 23-man squad for EURO 2016 this summer, kept six clean sheets in 36 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit this season.

Zieler; who began his professional career with Manchester United, before enduring a loan spell with Northampton Town back in 2008/09, has a World Cup winner’s medal following Germany’s triumph in Brazil almost two years ago.

After signing a four-year deal, Zieler told Foxes Player HD, “It feels great coming to Leicester and joining the Club after they’ve had such a great season – it’s really nice to be part of the club now.

“I’ve been shown around the training ground and it looks very good and I’ve been to the stadium – I heard about the great atmosphere and the great fans, so my first impression is very good.”
