From non-league nobody to Premier League record breaker; Jamie Vardy has written his name into English football folklore this season after a sensational 2015-16 campaign for surprise title contenders Leicester City, so far.
The 29-year-old, who joined the Foxes from then Conference outfit Fleetwood Town back in May 2012 for a reported £1m, has become the first-ever player to score in 11 consecutive Premier League games following his extraordinary goalscoring streak between August 29 and November 28, 2015.
The former Stocksbridge Park Steels star is currently the English top-flight’s joint top goalscorer; alongside Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, having netted an astonishing 15 goals in 22 league appearances for Claudio Ranieri’s side this campaign.
To put it into perspective; Vardy trebled his goalscoring tally from the previous 2014-15 season (five goals) after matchday 16 this term, resulting in the forward firmly put his name into the hat for Roy Hodgson’s England squad to compete at the 2016 UEFA European Championships in France this summer.
