The Foxes moved to within touching distance of their first top flight title in April, and their captain was influential, earning Shoot’s award as their top performer last month.

Leicester ended the month requiring just three more points to clinch the Premier League after their shock run to the summit of the table, and Morgan was a key contributor in April’s crucial fixtures.

Claudio Ranieri’s men headed into the month following three consecutive 1-0 wins, and their 32-year-old skipper ensured that the run continued by nodding the only goal of the game against Southampton.

Not content with that sole intervention, Morgan then played magnificently alongside central defensive partner Robert Huth to seal a 2-0 success in a tough game at Sunderland.

And, while the Foxes wobbled as Jamie Vardy saw red in a 2-2 draw with West Ham United, the Jamaica international again assisted a clean sheet in a 4-0 demolition of Swansea City.

Unsurprisingly, his outstanding performances were rewarded with a place in the PFA Team of the Year at the end of April, and he will now follow that up by lifting the Premier League trophy in May.
