Leicester City have reportedly made a £23.2 million offer for Santos forward Gabriel Barbosa, according to the Guardian.

The 19-year-old, who is nicknamed Gabigol, is currently featuring for Brazil at the Olympics in his own nation, and his future is likely to be decided after the Games, although the Premier League champions are pushing for a quick decision with the new season starting this weekend, and the transfer window closing at the end of the month.

The Foxes face competition from Serie A duo Juventus and Inter Milan for the attacker, whose contract with the Brazilian side runs out in 2019.

His agent, Wagner Ribeiro, said: “When the Olympics finish I will sit down with Gabigol and his family and decide his future.”

Leciester have already boosted their attacking options by signing Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa for £16 million this summer from CSKA Moscow, as well as retaining Jamie Vardy, Leonardo Ulloa and Shinji Okazaki.
