Leicester ready to splash out £7.3m on youth international full-back

Leicester City have reportedly entered talks over signing Portugal youth international Pedro Pereira.

The Premier League side, who surprisingly lead the English top-flight by two points heading into Christmas, are in discussions with Sampdoria over a January transfer for the right-back.

The 17-year-old has assisted one goal in eight Serie A appearances for the Italian outfit so far this season.

Despite being top of the table; Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes have conceded more goals than anybody else in the top-half of the standings, forcing the Italian manager to not rest on his laurels and therefore bid to strengthen his defensive ranks in the New Year.

According to local reports, Leicester are expected to stump up around £7.3m for the teenage star.
