Notts County’s former players have been quick to find new clubs – with England’s Carly Telford making a return to her old stomping ground, Chelsea.

After the shock news that the Lady Pies would cease to exist with immediate effect just prior to the Spring Series, there were question marks around how that would affect the contracted players.

However, it was confirmed that they would be able to sign for new teams, particularly vital for those international stars needing games before this summer’s European Championships.

And England goalkeeper Telford, named in Mark Sampson’s squad for the Euro’s in July, has returned to Chelsea just four years after leaving the club, and will remain with the club for the duration of the Spring Series.

Elswhere, Reading swooped in to sign Kirsty Linnett and Lionesses Jade Moore and Jo Potter on Bank Holiday Monday, with manager Kelly Chambers praising the trio.

‘They were three players that were on our radar before the Spring Series, we wanted to bring in more experience from WSL1, and that’s what we’ve done,’ she told the club’s official website.

‘It broadens the options we have and it’s great to bring in three players of that calibre, and have that experience at playing at WSL1, they’re definitely going to enhance us.’

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Megan Walsh has joined Yeovil as cover for the injured Charlotte Haynes; Leanne Crichton has returned to Scotland and joined Glasgow City; and defender Louise Quinn signed for Arsenal prior to their Spring Series match against Sunderland.

England centre half Laura Bassett has not yet announced where she will be moving to.
