Liverpool will win the Premier League title for just the second time ever if they beat Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday.

Arne Slot’s side battled to a 1-0 win over Leicester City last time out, a result that moved them 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

With just five matches remaining, the Reds need only one more victory to secure the title in Slot’s first season in charge.

Away from the action, Liverpool are one of a trio of Premier League sides said to be interested in a Germany international.

According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City are all keeping tabs on Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz.

The 21-year-old has established himself as one of the finest attacking midfielders in Europe over the past couple of seasons, having helped Leverkusen to a maiden Bundesliga title last term.

Wirtz is a target for several Premier League sides

In total he has now scored 56 goals and registered 63 assists in 193 games for the German side across all competitions, having joined from Koln as a teenager.

The report claims that the trio of Premier League sides are all said to be interested in the German, however he would likely cost in excess of £100 million as he is under contract until 2028 and Leverkusen are understandably reluctant to lose him.

City are said to be considering Wirtz as a potential replacement for instrumental midfielder Kevin de Bruyne, who is set to depart The Etihad at the end of the current campaign.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have become somewhat dependant on Martin Odegaard and feel they could benefit from adding another creative midfielder to Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Slot’s is said to be keen to bolster his Liverpool squad during this summer’s transfer window, and Wirtz has been identified as one of the Merseyside club’s prime targets.
