Arsenal return to Premier League action on Saturday when they host Bournemouth.

The Gunners had been in the hunt for the league title but Liverpool’s win over Tottenham Hotspur last time out crowned the Reds champions, and means Mikel Arteta’s side will likely be runners-up for the third consecutive season.

The North London side do remain in the Champions League, however they will have to overturn a first leg deficit if they are to progress after losing 1-0 t0 Paris Saint-Germain in their semi-final on Tuesday night.

In the meantime, it has emerged that Arsenal are interested in a Celtic star.

According to TBR Football, both Arsenal and Premier League champions Liverpool are monitoring Celtic forward Daizen Maeda.

The 27-year-old joined Celtic from Yokohama F. Marinos in 2022 and has since enjoyed huge success in Glasgow, winning eight trophies including four top flight titles.

Maeda has attracted interest from both Arsenal and Liverpool

He has scored 33 goals in 47 games so far this term, helping the Bhoys to the Scottish Premiership title under Brendan Rodgers.

In total the Japanese forward has now netted 62 times in 154 games for the Scottish giants, but his impressive displays haven’t gone unnoticed and the report claims that both the Gunners and the Reds are keeping tabs on his situation.

Both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to have watched the attacker in action this season.

Maeda – who can play on either flank or centrally – is under contract with the Hoops until the end of the 2026/27 campaign, but it appears that Celtic could face a battle to keep hold of him beyond this summer.

Aston Villa, Brentford, Crystal Palace, Fulham, West Ham United and Leeds United are all also named as clubs that have watched the Japanese in action this season.
