Liverpool and Everton reportedly look set to go head-to-head in a bid to land England youth international starlet Ezri Konsa, according to The Sun.

The Premier League rivals, who respectively sit fifth and fourteenth in the English top-flight standings after their opening six league games this term, have both been linked with the highly rated Charlton Athletic defender ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window.

The 19-year-old, who was part of England Under-20’s World Cup winning squad this summer, has made 10 appearances in all competitions for the League One side so far this season.

Konsa, who joined The Addicks when he was just 12-years-old and has graduated through their youth system, has racked up 49 first-team outings overall for Charlton.

Charlton Athletic’s Ezri Konsa battles with Millwall’s Aiden O’Brien last December.

The report suggests Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton are keen to snap up the teenager in the New Year market, though any potential deal will most likely see the talented centre-half re-join Karl Robinson’s side on loan for the remainder of the 2017-18 campaign to aid his development.
