Manchester United welcome French side Lyon to Old Trafford on Thursday night, for the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final.

The Red Devils came from behind before surrendering a late lead as the two sides drew 2-2 in the first leg last week, and head coach Ruben Amorim will be desperate to see his side improve this time around.

Last time out United were beaten 4-1 by Newcastle United at St. James’ Park, leaving Amorim’s side 14th in the Premier League table and meaning their only real chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League would be by winning the Europa League this term.

Away from the action, it appears that United could be dealt a blow in their pursuit of an in-form Premier League winger this summer.

As per GiveMeSport, United and other interested clubs could be left disappointed as Bournemouth are refusing to lower their demands for Antoine Semenyo.

Semenyo could be on the move this summer

The Ghana international is enjoying a fine season on the south coast, having scored ten goals and provided six assists in 36 matches across all competitions.

His impressive displays have attracted interest from several clubs – including United, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool – however the report claims that the Cherries will not budge on their valuation of the player.

Semenyo is under contract with Bournemouth until the end of the 2028/29 campaign on a deal that earns him £50,000-per-week, and the report suggests that the Cherries will demand a fee of £70 million to let the attacker leave.

The Ghanaian joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in January 2023 and has since made 83 appearances for the club in total, scoring 19 times and providing nine assists.

Semenyo’s versatility will likely appeal to potential suitors, with the 25-year-old capable of operating on either flank.
