Manchester United return to Premier League action on Thursday when they travel to face Wolves.

The Red Devils will arrive at Molineux off the back of a nervy win over Newport County in the FA Cup last time out.

Erik ten Hag’s side raced into an early 2-0 lead in Wales, before the League Two side scored twice to level the score shortly after the break.

It appeared that the tie could be heading for a shock replay, before late goals from Antony and Rasmus Hojlund spared United’s blushes and booked their place in the fifth round, setting up a meeting with either Bristol City or Nottingham Forest.

With the transfer window set to slam shut on Thursday, there has been an unusually small number of deals completed so far this month.

United are one of several clubs that are yet to sign a player during the current window, but it appears that they are still interested in a La Liga player.

Kubo has attracted interest from both Liverpool and Man United

According to Football Insider, both Manchester United and Premier League rivals Liverpool are interested in Real Sociedad’s Takefusa Kubo.

The report claims that both sides are ‘huge admirers’ of the winger, who has a release clause of £51 million included in his current contract.

Kubo, 22, joined Sociedad from fellow La Liga side Real Madrid in 2022, and has since played 69 times for the club across all competitions.

In that time he has scored 15 goals, as well as providing 13 assists, including six goals so far this campaign.

Despite their interest, the report claims that neither Liverpool nor United will trigger the player’s release clause this month, but could revisit their interest when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

The Japan international is currently contracted to Sociedad until the summer of 2027.
