Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly set to go head-to-head in a bidding war for Germany prodigy Leroy Sane.
The Premier League rivals, who currently sit tenth and fourth in the standings respectively, are both monitoring the Schalke star closely ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window.
The 19-year-old winger, who made his international debut against France only last week, has already scored five and assisted four goals in 18 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit this season.
Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal has already signalled his intentions of signing a speedy forward in the New Year, meanwhile Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has already seen Sane’s ability in the German top-flight given his time in charge at Borussia Dortmund.
Sane, who has only played 33 games of senior football throughout his career, is likely to cost around £12m.
