Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are both interested in signing Netherlands international Georginio Wijnaldum this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The Premier League duo, who finished eighth and third in the English top-flight standings last term respectively, are understood to be considering making a move for the Newcastle United star following the club’s relegation to the Championship back in May.

The 25-year-old, who has 30 international caps for his country, scored 11 goals and provided five assists in 40 appearances in all competitions for the Magpies last season.

Wijnaldum, who cost Newcastle a reported £14.5m back in July 2015 following his switch from Eredivisie outfit PSV Eindhoven, has been tipped to complete a return to the Premier League ahead of the forthcoming 2016/17 campaign after an impressive individual debut year.

However the report suggests that Rafael Benitez’s side value the Netherlands ace at £25m, with both Jurgen Klopp’s Reds and Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs unwilling to match that figure.
