Liverpool and Tottenham are both reportedly set to go head-to-head in a bid to land Mali international forward Moussa Marega, according to The Sun.

The Premier League rivals, who currently sit fourth and second in the English top-flight standings respectively, have been linked with a move for the FC Porto star, who is currently impressing on loan at Vitoria Guimaraes.

The 24-year-old, who has seven international caps for his country, has scored 12 goals and provided four assists in 22 appearances in all competitions for the the Liga NOS outfit so far this season.

Marega, who is nicknamed ‘the Malian Jamie Vardy’, is contracted with Porto until 2020 after joining the club back in January 2016 from Maritimo.

Following his goalscoring exploits in the Portuguese top-flight, the likes of Liverpool and Spurs have been linked with luring the Malian to the Premier League, though he will come at a hefty cost, with his release clause supposedly set at £35m.
