Liverpool and Tottenham are both reportedly interested in signing Germany international defender Jonas Hector, according to Bild

The Premier League duo, who finished eighth and third in the English top-flight standings last term respectively, have both been constantly linked with a summer swoop for the FC Koln left-back ahead of the forthcoming 2016/17 campaign.

The 26-year-old, who has 20 international caps for his country and starred for Germany as Joachim Low’s side reached the semi-finals of EURO 2016 this month before their defeat to hosts France, provided four assists in 34 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit last season.

Hector, who made his international debut back in November 2014 against Gibraltar, has become hot property in Germany following his impressive emergence into the national squad.

The report suggests that both Jurgen Klopp’s Reds and Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs have not been put off the services of the German, despite Koln hoping to pocket £25m for any potential sale.
