This summer’s transfer window could see more spending than any other in recent years, despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, with a number of the world’s best players linked with big moves.

Harry Kane, Erling Braut Haaland and Jadon Sancho are all being heavily linked with moves and each of the three would be unlikely to move for less than £100 million.

However, it could be a less high-profile player that proves to be the signing of the summer, judging by the opening games of Euro 2020.

A number of Premier League clubs are rumoured to be chasing Sweden star Alexander Isak, with Liverpool the latest side to express an interest, according to AS.

Chelsea and Arsenal had also been linked with the 21-year-old, who scored 17 goals in 34 games for Spanish side Real Sociedad last season.

Isak looks dangerous in Sweden’s Euro 2020 opener, a relatively drab 0-0 draw against Spain, going close to opening the scoring by hitting the woodwork early in the first half.

Isak has taken advantage of Zlatan Ibrahimovich’s absence to become the focal point of Sweden’s attack at Euro 2020

The report suggests that Isak’s ‘great performance’ against Spain ‘reinforced the interest of Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool’.

It also states that ‘The Premier League has gone crazy’ for the young forward, who has scored a remarkable 61 goals in 159 senior games at club level.

The former Borussia Dortmund man has a release clause of approximately £60 million, and it is believed that Sociedad are wary of losing their talisman this summer, especially if he continues to impress at Euro 2020.

Isak has already played 23 times for his country, scoring five goals.
