The Premier League returns this weekend, with leaders Liverpool hosting Chelsea in the pick of the games.

Arne Slot’s side currently sit a point ahead of reigning champions Manchester City, while Arsenal are also just a point behind the Reds in third.

Chelsea have started the new campaign relatively promisingly under head coach Enzo Maresca, and the Italian will be optimistic about his side’s chances of getting a result at Anfield on Sunday.

Off the pitch, it has emerged that Liverpool are expecting to receive offers for one of their key players next summer.

As per Football Insider, Liverpool are braced to receive offers for goalkeeper Alisson.

The Brazilian was the subject of interest from Saudi Arabian clubs last summer, and the report suggests that Pro League sides could revisit the possibility of signing the ‘keeper next summer.

Some of Europe’s top clubs are also believed to be interested in the 32-year-old, who is currently out injured.

Alisson’s injury record is believed to be quickly becoming something of a concern for those in charge of Liverpool, and they could therefore consider selling him next year if a suitable offer is made.

The Brazil international signed a contract extension with the Reds in 2021 which is set to run until 2027.

In total, Alisson has played 271 times for Liverpool across all competitions, keeping 119 clean sheets.

Over the summer, the Reds signed goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from Spanish side Valencia, although he has remained in Spain and is set to join up with Slot’s squad ahead of next season.

That could prompt Liverpool to sell Alisson is a suitable offer is made, which is plausible as the Brazilian is currently regarded as one of the best in the world in his position.
