The England squad will meet up on Wednesday for a training camp ahead of their two upcoming friendlies.

The 33-man squad for the European Championships are set to join up ahead of games against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iceland, with manager Gareth Southgate set to cut his squad down to 26 players after the two matches.

Every member of the preliminary squad will hope to be given an opportunity to impress during the two games, with several places in the final squad still up for grabs.

One player that is likely to be cut from the squad is goalkeeper James Trafford, with Southgate likely to select Jordan Pickford, Dean Henderson and Aaron Ramsdale likely to go to the tournament in Germany.

Now, though, the ‘keeper is being chased by Liverpool, according to Football Insider.

The report claims that both the Reds and West Ham United are interested in the Burnley man, who is currently set to play in the Championship next season following the Clarets’ relegation.

Trafford has emerged as a target for Liverpool

Trafford, 21, played a crucial role for England Under-21s as they won the European Championships last summer, saving a late penalty as the Young Lions beat Spain in the final.

That performance, coupled with his impressive displays on loan at Bolton Wanderers, earned him a move from Manchester City’s academy to Turf Moor.

He played 28 times for Vincent Kompany’s side last term, but was unable to prevent Burnley from being relegated back to the second tier.

The report claims that Liverpool scouted Trafford several times during the recent campaign, and the Merseyside club are now set to battle it out with the Magpies for the Englishman’s signature.

Trafford is currently contracted to the Clarets until the end of the 2026/27 season.
