Liverpool will be hoping to extend their advantage at the top of the Premier League table when they face Luton Town on Wednesday.

The Reds currently hold a two-point lead over second-placed Arsenal, but they could extend their lead with victory over the Hatters at Anfield.

Manager Jurgen Klopp will be desperate to lift a second top flight English title in his final season for the club, with the German set to depart Merseyside at the end of the current campaign.

This summer therefore promises to be one of significant change at the club, and it appears that they have already set their sights on a Premier League defender.

According to The Telegraph, the Reds are eyeing a move for Crystal palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

The Englishman has established himself as one of the best in his position in the Premier League over recent seasons, having joined the Eagles from Chelsea in 2021.

Guehi is said to be a target for Liverpool ahead of the summer transfer window

Guehi made just two senior appearances for the Blues, but has already played more than 100 times for Palace across all competitions.

New Palace boss Oliver Glasner could face a tricky summer ahead, with several of his most important players likely to be the subject of interest from other clubs.

In addition to Guehi, the likes of Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise are also set to be the subject of significant interest from elsewhere.

Having made his senior international debut in March 2022, Guehi has now been capped nine times by England and is a regular in Gareth Southgate’s squads ahead of the upcoming Euro 2024 tournament in Germany this summer.

The defender will enter into the final two years of his current Palace contract in the coming months, though, and clubs could therefore look to test the Eagles’ resolve by moving for the defender when the transfer window reopens.
