Liverpool cruised to a 3-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday, keeping alive their Premier League title hopes.

Goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ryan Gravenberch and Diogo Jota gave Jurgen Klopp’s side a crucial win, after two disappointing defeats in the past week.

Last weekend the Reds were beaten 1-0 by Crystal Palace at Anfield, denting their title hopes, before they were knocked out of the Europa League by Atalanta in midweek.

Klopp will remain optimistic that his side can win the title in his final season in charge, but this summer is set to be one of significant change at Anfield.

With Klopp set to depart in the coming months, those in charge of the club are already searching for potential transfer targets, and Football Insider claims that the Merseyside outfit are eyeing two defenders.

Inacio is a target for Liverpool ahead of the summer transfer window

The report claims that Sporting CP duo Goncalo Inacio and Ousmane Diomande are targets for the club, as they look to bolster their backline ahead of next term.

It is claimed that Liverpool have a long-standing interest in Inacio, 22, while 20-year-old Diomande has emerged on their radar ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Inacio has missed just two of Sporting’s league games so far this term, while Diomande has also played 23 times in the competition and both have been instrumental as the club close in on the top flight title.

The pair have primarily been deployed in central defence, as part of a back three alongside former Liverpool man Sebastien Coates.

It is also claimed that Liverpool will be confident of signing the duo, as current Sporting manager Ruben Amorim is expected to succeed Klopp as the club’s new boss.

If he does make the switch from Lisbon to Merseyside, Amorim will likely want to bring players with him, and the defensive pair are high on Liverpool’s list of targets.
