Liverpool return to European action when they face Sparta Prague in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

The Reds have been in fine form of late, although they relied on a controversial late Darwin Nunez goal to beat Nottingham Forest last time out.

Victory kept Liverpool top of the Premier League table, and manager Jurgen Klopp will be keen to ensure his side earn a first leg lead in their last 16 tie against Sparta this week.

In the meantime, it has emerged that the league leaders are chasing a Premier League winger, although their interest has one caveat.

As per Football Insider, the Merseyside outfit are interested in Wolves star Pedro Neto, but are concerned about his recent injury record.

Neto has been in fine form so far this season

Neto, 23, joined Wolves from Italian side Lazio in 2019 and has since made 133 appearances across all competitions, scoring 14 goals and providing 24 assists.

This season he has scored three times and provided 11 assists in 22 games for Gary O’Neil’s side.

The report claims that Liverpool hold a ‘concrete interest’ in the Portugal international, but are concerned by the frequency with which he has been absent in recent seasons.

Since moving to Molineux, Neto has missed more than 80 matches for the club, most recently when missing the majority of November and December this season due to a hamstring problem.

Liverpool are said to be considering a move for Neto as a potential replacement for talisman Mohamed Salah, who has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia and was the subject of a £150 million bid from Al-Ittihad last summer.

It is also claimed that Wolves could sell Neto this summer as they look to raise funds for their own signings.
