Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is closing in on the first of his summer targets as he looks to bolster his side for Champions League football next season.

The Reds can take a step closer to securing their top four spot with a win over West Ham on Sunday, but Klopp has other issues to worry about on top of their London Stadium visit.

According to reports from The Mirror, the former Borussia Dortmund boss is closing in on a deal for Gremio forward and Brazilian international, Luan.

The Rio 2016 Gold Medallist, who snubbed a new contract with the South American side last month, is rated at around £10m but the Mirror claim that the Merseyside club are set to pay more than double that, £26m.

The 24-year-old has supposedly been a target of Klopp’s for a year now, with the German boss keen to grow the Brazilian contingent at Anfield. Luan would join compatriots Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Lucas, although the latter looks set to leave the club this summer.
