Liverpool are closing in on a deal for Bury defender, Emeka Obi, as they look to bring him into their youth setup, according to reports from The Mirror.
The 15-year-old, who made his debut for The Shakers in August against Morecambe in the Checkatrade Trophy, has been monitored by Klopp’s side, who are closing in on a six-figure deal.
The 6ft 5in, defender has been described by his current boss David Flitcroft as a “man mountain” and has received very high praise indeed.
“I think he’s the best talent right now at 15 years old in the entire country,” Flitcroft added.
The defender had a trail with Premier League rivals Stoke City last summer, but no move to the Potters materialised off the back of it.
Considering the praise heaped on the youngster, a six-figure fee could turn out to be a steal further down the line, however – with this in mind – the Bury hierarchy are supposedly fighting to include add-ons in any deal.
