Liverpool will be hoping to move a step closer to qualification for European competition next season when they face Brentford on Saturday.

The Reds currently sit fifth in the Premier League table and will have a place in the top four in their sights, although they do sit seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester United at present.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have won five Premier League matches on the trot, though, and won’t give up on securing a place in the Champions League next term.

In the meantime, it appears that Liverpool are confident of completing three new signings this summer.

According to Football Insider, the Merseyside outfit are increasingly confident of landing their three top midfield targets this summer.

The report claims that Liverpool are hoping to sign Mason Mount, Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister when the summer transfer window opens.

Mount, 24, has a year remaining on his contract with current side Chelsea and has been heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Mount continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool this summer

The midfielder has played an integral role for the Blues since making his debut in 2019, but talks between the club and his representatives have so far failed to progress.

Chelsea therefore face losing the midfielder for free next term, and could opt to sell him this summer in order to avoid doing so.

Mac Allister, who netted a late penalty to give Brighton and Hove Albion victory over Manchester United on Thursday, is another player who looks set to move during the upcoming window.

The midfielder, who helped Argentina to lift the World Cup last year, has been in sensational form for the Seagulls this term but looks increasingly likely to leave The Amex this summer.

Another target for Liverpool is Gravenberch, who has struggled to make an impact during his first season with current side Bayern Munich.

The Dutchman joined Bayern from Ajax last summer, but has made just one Bundesliga start for his new side.

The Reds are set to lose James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain when their contracts expire this summer, and Klopp is therefore keen to bolster his squad ahead of next term.
