Liverpool can extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table with victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Reds lifted the Carabao Cup trophy last weekend courtesy of victory over Chelsea, and then defeated Championship high-flyers Southampton in midweek to book their place in the last eight of the FA Cup.

In the league, Jurgen Klopp’s side currently sit just a single point ahead of reigning champions Manchester City, who face rivals United on Sunday.

Off the pitch, though, it appears that the Merseyside outfit are confident about their chances of keeping hold of a key player.

As per Football Insider, the club remain confident that full-back Andy Robertson will stay put at Anfield.

The Scot has been the subject of rumour suggesting he is a target for German champions Bayern Munich, but the report suggests that Liverpool remain confident that he will stay put beyond this summer.

Robertson, 29, joined the Reds from Championship side Hull City back in 2017 and has since established himself as one of the Premier League’s best left-backs.

Robertson has suffered with injuries this season

The Scotland international has made more than 280 appearances for the club across all competitions, providing 64 assists.

He has also lifted no fewer than eight trophies during his time at Anfield, including both the Premier League and the Champions League.

This season Robertson has been limited to just 15 appearances, largely due to an injury suffered while on international duty with Scotland in September last year.

In his absence, Greece international Kostas Tsimikas was primarily used at left-back, although he too later suffered an injury of his own.

The defender is contracted to Liverpool until the end of the 2025/26 season, and it appears extremely unlikely that he will depart Anfield prior to that date.
