Liverpool will hope to end their dismal run of form when they face German side Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday evening.

Arne Slot’s side have lost their last four matches across all competitions – including three Premier League games – despite spending more than £440 million during the recent summer transfer window.

At present, the Reds sit third in the Premier League, four points behind leaders Arsenal.

In the Champions League group phase, the Merseyside outfit occupy 17th spot with one win and one defeat so far.

Slot will therefore hope to see his side return to winning ways when they face Eintracht Frankfurt, but in the meantime it has emerged that one of Liverpool’s defenders could be allowed to leave the club next year.

As per MilanLive via TEAMtalk, Liverpool could allow centre-back Joe Gomez to depart Anfield in January if they can source a replacement for the player.

Gomez was the subject of interest from Italian outfit AC Milan during the recent summer transfer window, and the report claims that the Serie A side are set to revisit a potential move for the player in January.

It is claimed, however, that the Reds could now be willing to allow the move if they can find a replacement for the Englishman.

Having joined Liverpool from Charlton Athletic back in 2015, Gomez is now the Reds’ longest serving player.

In total he has played more than 240 times for the club across all competitions, but the England international has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter since Slot took charge.

His only start so far this season came in Liverpool’s win over Championship side Southampton in the Carabao Cup third round, and the report suggests that the Reds could be willing to accept an offer in the region of £8-13 million for the player.
