Liverpool continued their fine run of form as they beat Brentford 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Mohamed Salah scored a brace – taking him to 200 goals in English football – before Diogo Jota added a third for the Reds to keep Jurgen Klopp’s side in the race for the Premier League title.

The Merseyside outfit sit second in the top flight table, just a single point behind leaders Manchester City who were held to a 4-4 draw by Chelsea later on Sunday afternoon.

After the upcoming international break, the Reds will face City in a potentially crucial game at The Etihad.

In the meantime, though, Liverpool may have been handed a boost in their pursuit of a Premier League defender.

As per Football Insider, an offer of around £30 million could be enough to lure centre-back Lloyd Kelly from Bournemouth.

Kelly has attracted interest from both Liverpool and Tottenham

The 25-year-old central defender has attracted interest from both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the January transfer window, and the report claims that the Cherries would likely accept an offer in the region of £25-30 million for the player.

Kelly’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the current season, and Bournemouth could therefore cash in on him if an offer is made in the new year.

The Englishman joined his current club from Championship side Bristol City back in 2019 and has since made 125 appearances for the Cherries across all competitions.

So far this season the defender has made nine appearances across all competitions, including eight in the Premier League.

The versatile defender, who can play at centre-back or left-back, has also captained the Cherries on two occasions so far this term.

Liverpool are in the market for a new central defender in the coming months with current centre-backs Joe Gomez and Joel Matip having both suffered with injuries in recent seasons.
