Liverpool came from behind to beat Brighton and Hove Albion and return to the top of the Premier League on Saturday.

The Seagulls had taken a shock lead at Anfield but goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah earned Arne Slot’s side an eighth win in ten league games so far this term.

The result moved Liverpool back to the summit of the table, where they now lead reigning champions Manchester City by two points.

Now, it appears that Liverpool may have had some good news off the pitch too.

As per Football Insider, Wolves could be willing to sell Liverpool target Rayan Ait-Nouri for a cut-price.

The report claims that the Algerian has been a target for the Reds for a while now, as they search for a new left-back.

Ait-Nouri, 23, has been in fine form for Wolves over the past year or so, and the report suggests that Wolves are resigned to the fact that he will likely leave Molineux.

Ait-Nouri is a target for Liverpool

The Algerian joined Wolves from French side Angers in the summer of 2021, having spent the previous year on loan at the Premier League side.

He has now made more than 120 appearances for Wolves across all competitions, but his current contract is set to expire at the end of next season and the report suggests that his current club could therefore be willing to agree a low price for the player.

It is also claimed that Liverpool boss Arne Slot is on the hunt for a new left-back as he is unconvinced by his current options.

Andy Robertson was dropped to the bench for Saturday’s win over Brighton, with Kostas Tsimikas starting in his place.

The report suggests that Liverpool view Ait-Nouri as a potential long-term replacement for Robertson.
