After a season to forget last term, Liverpool look back to their best and are competing on all fronts in their bid to secure more silverware.

After Champions League and Premier League titles in consecutive seasons, last year was a trophy-less campaign for the Reds, who struggled with injuries and almost missed out on qualification for Europe’s top club competition.

Now, however, Jurgen Klopp’s side are back to their best and are still in with a chance of winning an unprecedented quadruple.

With Mohamed Salah in the form of his life and the likes of Thiago Alcantara and Trent Alexander-Arnold also impressing, Liverpool look likely to push Manchester City all the way in their bid for a second Premier League title.

Now, it appears that Klopp’s side could be bolstered by the acquisition of one of Europe’s biggest talents.

According to Sky Sports in Germany, Liverpool are contenders for the singing of Erling Braut Haaland in the summer.

Haaland averages a little over a goal-per-game for the Bundesliga side

The Norwegian forward is a target for a number of Europe’s biggest clubs, but the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid had been touted as his most likely destination.

However, Liverpool have now emerged as potential suitors, and the addition of the striker would complete a frightening frontline for Klopp.

The 21-year-old has a remarkable record at senior level, having scored 76 goals and provided 20 assists in 75 games for current club Borussia Dortmund.

The striker has a release clause that becomes active next summer, undoubtedly prompting a bidding war for the youngster’s signature, however it has also been suggested that Dortmund may opt to cash in on the player and sell him in January for a higher fee.

Both Manchester City and Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in the Norway international, while Chelsea all but ruled themselves out of contention with the £100 million signing of Romelu Lukaku over the summer.
