Liverpool have reportedly entered negotiations over a potentially mega money deal for France youth international starlet Thomas Lemar, according to L’Equipe (via the Sunday Express).

The Premier League side, who currently sit seventh in the English top-flight standings following Sunday afternoon’s 3-1 defeat at the Liberty Stadium to the hands of Swansea City, are already thought to have made an enquiry for AS Monaco’s highly-rated midfielder ahead of the close of the current 2015/16 campaign.

The 20-year-old, who has played six times for France’s Under-21 squad, has scored five goals and provided five assists in 32 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit so far this season.

Lemar; who is also said to be attracting interest from Premier League rivals Manchester City, plus European sides Atletico Madrid and FC Bayern Munich, could cost any potential suitor around £58m.

The report suggests that Jurgen Klopp’s side have already made contact with the midfielder’s representatives over a summer switch to Anfield.
