Liverpool are reportedly interested in snapping up Serbia sensation Marko Grujic in the January transfer window.

The Premier League side, who suffered a shock 2-0 defeat at struggling Newcastle United at the weekend, are understood to have already offered the Red Star Belgrade midfielder an offer.

The 19-year-old, who is rated at around £5m, has impressively scored five and assisted six goals in 19 league appearances for the SuperLiga outfit so far this season.

However the Serbia Under-21 international admits he is likely to delay a decision until the end of the current campaign, “I’ll try to respect the club, the fans and the general public, but again I think that for myself I have to choose the best environment where I get the chance to play and where I work with good coaches in good conditions.”

Grujic added, “It is certain that I remain here until the end of qualifying for the Champions League.

“I had a talk with Liverpool but I did not receive yet any agreement. I’m still a Red Star player.”
