Caoimhin Kelleher was the hero for Liverpool on Wednesday evening as he saved three spot-kicks to ensure The Reds beat Derby County on penalties in their Carabao Cup third round tie.

The Irish goalkeeper boats an incredible record in the competition, having saved six penalties across the four shootouts that he has been involved in.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will find out their fourth round opponents on Thursday evening, following the Manchester United v Aston Villa match.

In the meantime, it appears that Liverpool could be plotting a move for a Bundesliga teenager.

The Reds have already been heavily linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham in recent months, but it now appears that they could be lining up a move for one of his teammates.

According to BILD via SportWitness, The Reds are contemplating a move for Youssoufa Moukoko.

The 17-year-old striker is regarded as one of the biggest talents in Germany and has already scored six Bundesliga goals this season, despite having only started seven matches.

Klopp wants to add Moukoko to his attacking options

The report claims that the player is expected to sign a long-term contract with Dortmund when he turns 18 later this month, but Liverpool are one of a number of clubs hoping to be able to persuade him otherwise.

Moukoko has also sparked a battle between some of Europe’s biggest agencies to land the teenager, with several parties trying to poach him from his current agents Wasserman.

The teenager recently became the youngest player ever to score ten Bundesliga goals, which suggests that the hype around him may well be justified.

The forward would be expected to cost around £26 million if he were to leave Dortmund, although the German side do have a contract offer ready for him to sign if he does decide to stay put.

In total, Moukoko has scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 58 matches for Dortmund.

Liverpool allowed both Divock Origi and Sadio Mane to leave over the summer and only added Darwin Nunez to their squad, perhaps suggesting that Klopp feels they are slightly short of options in attack.

Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino are also both in their 30s, meaning a move for Moukoko could be beneficial in terms of lowering the average age of The Reds’ current crop of forwards.
