Premier League champions Liverpool face Serie A giants AC Milan in a friendly in Hong Kong on Saturday.

Arne Slot’s side defeated Championship outfit Preston North End 3-1 in their first game of pre-season earlier this month, and they now embark on a tour of Asia during which they will face both Milan and Japanese side Yokohama F. Marinos.

The Reds begin the defence of their Premier League crown with a game against Bournemouth in August, but they first face FA Cup holders Crystal Palace in the Community Shield at Wembley.

In the meantime, it has emerged that Liverpool are in the running to sign a Ligue 1 star.

According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool are one of a number of Premier League sides interested in Lyon winger Malick Fofana.

The report claims that Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are all interested in the 20-year-old, who has impressed for Lyon over the past year.

In total Fofana has scored 15 goals and registered seven assists in 62 games for the club across all competitions, and his impressive displays have attracted interest from several clubs.

Liverpool are said to have held discussions with the youngster’s representatives about a possible move, with Lyon open to the idea of selling the player in order to appease their financial woes.

Italian side Napoli are said to be interested in the winger and could submit an offer of around £26 million for the player, while Lyon are said to value him in the region of £45-50 million.

Fellow Serie A side Juventus are also credited with an interest in the player, whose former side Gent are entitled to 20% of any transfer fee as part of the deal that saw him move to Lyon a year ago.
